Preconfigure discounts with templates

The Templates chapter allows you to preconfigure certain aspects of a discount to simplify, accelerate, or restrict certain factors when a user is creating a new discount from scratch. By selecting a template during the discount setup, users can quickly apply a predefined discount setup.

Authorization

In order to be able to access this chapter, the role must have the DiscountTemplates functionality. For additional discount-related functionalities, see Discount Related Functionalities.


Functionalities​

Creating discounts from templates necessitates different permissions compared to creating discounts from scratch. For more details, refer to the section on discount related functionalities.

Using functionalities, you can then restrict specific roles to only create discounts from templates, preventing them from creating discounts from scratch.

In practice, if the functionality Discounts with scope create is set to Off, and CreateDiscountFromTemplate is set to On, the role will only have the option to create discounts using existing template(s). This functionality combination prevents users from creating discounts from scratch.

Creating a Template​

Creating a template is similar to creating a discount from scratch, except for certain fields such as the marketing description and dates.

To modify or delete a template, along with all associated discounts, click on the template you wish to change.
