Promotions using Loyalty Points

Configure promotions based on loyalty points

There are two methods of using loyalty points for promotions:

  • Promotions that trigger on a certain amount of loyalty points (non-consuming)
  • Promotions that consume a certain amount of loyalty points (consuming)

Non-consuming

There are two ways to go about non-consuming loyalty promotions:

Points condition

It is possible to create a Points condition based on your loyalty program. Using this condition you can trigger the promotions specified actions based on a points amount.

Example: the actions of a discount, assume a 10% discount, will only kick-in if the customer has 10 loyalty points from the loyalty program called "NB loyalty".

Sliding points action

Secondly, you could create a promotion which just checks whether or not the user is subscribed to your loyalty program, and then create a sliding discount action based on the amount of loyalty points that customer holds.

This is a simpler version of the previous promotion, but allows you to put a whole bunch of steps in one.

Example: 1% off if the customer has 10 loyalty points. 2% if the customer has 20 loyalty points, and so forth.

Consuming

Lastly, we have a consuming option for your promotions. These promotions will consume a certain amount of loyalty points, and therefore won't apply automatically - they have to be manually applied.

For setting up promotions to consume loyalty points, you can set the trigger type to Loyalty documentation.
