Personalized promos

Personlaized promotions just for you

Personalized promotions are used to enlist a specific user (consumers/employees) to a promotion that is personalized just for that one user. The user then gets the ability to choose a product from a predefined list (the list could also include just one item should that be the desired configuration). This chapter is where you set the scene on certain aspects of this type of promotion like "Maximum distinct products" and "Lock after first apply". We cover those below and more.

Authorization

In order to be able to access this chapter, you need the PersonalizedPromotions permission.

Initial overview

The chapter starts with an overview, listing all existing personalized promotions (if any). From here you can create, edit existing ones, or delete. If your list is long, make use of the filters to refine it.


Creating and editing

The flow to create or edit a personalized promotion is similar. Both allow you to configure/edit the same set of fields. Here's a description of each:

  • Name, Description, BackendID: Those are quite straight forward where you can give your personalized promotion a name, description, and backend ID. Quite handy to identify the personalized promotion when you have multiple or when needed for a call.
  • Maximum distinct products: This field accepts integers only. Here you can specify the maximum amount of products a customer can pick from the list of products specified i.e. the consumer promotion product list. Note: Leaving this field blank would mean that the customer can pick all the products in the specified list.
  • Lock after first apply: Checking this box means that once a product choice has been made by the customer, he/she can no longer switch to another. So, an unchecked box is the complete opposite of this.


Configuring product lists

Now that you've set the scene with the above configurations, your next step is to create a promotion product list and tag that list to user(s).

Product list(s) in the Consumers chapter

If a consumer benefits from a personalized promotion, such will be shown under the Personalized promotions tab in the Consumers chapter.

The discount action

To have the personalized promotion up and running via our promotion engine, you'll need to make use of the Product sets discount action, namely the Add personalized promotion option.


From there you can already specify what the discount benefit would be via use of the Set discount values fields, and further the respective personalized promotion card fields:

  • Name of product set: The products that form a part of this promotion are already identified under the Personalized promotion lists, so this is just giving it a name.
  • Required amount of products: How many products from that specified list should be included in a customers order in order for this discount action to trigger.
  • This many products get the discount: If the discount is triggered, how many products would get the discount as defined under the Set discount values fields. This will only be applicable if the This product set gets the discount box is checked.
  • Personalized promotion: Here you specify which personalized promotion is being tagged to this discount. Your list here is based on the list of created personalized promotions.

Specifying discount condition(s) is not mandatory when it comes to personalized promotion discount configurations however, those are still usable should the need arise to further customize.
